Amongst all the controversy with The Winchesters, the viewers have divided into two main camps: those who praise the show and want it to keep going as it is, and those who claim it's terrible at the moment and should be either finished or drastically improved.

The latter often try to come up with suggestions on how to make The Winchesters better, and they're definitely worth reading.

No matter personal opinions, at this point, it's pretty obvious that if the series is to be renewed, it needs to change.

During a recent discussion on Reddit, fans pointed out a few crucial directions for the required changes — this time, to completely overhaul the show.

Here are their suggestions.

Cast and characters

The cast should be picked more carefully, seeing that they feel their characters and can show the chemistry between them, which is now missing even between John and Mary.

And the characters' presence and relationships need to have much more build-up so they feel like real people because right now they totally don't.

Storylines

Currently, there's nothing compelling about the characters' storylines and emotional scenes. They feel very fake and forced like they were only put there because they had to be.

You can't care enough about any of the internal struggles and backstories if they tell you nothing about the characters at all.

Pacing and speed

The writers must totally change the pacing and their general approach to the show. Right now, everything is so rushed for no good reason as though there was a ticking countdown timer…

Starting with John coming back from the war and immediately becoming a hunter by the end of episode 1. Come on.

Instead of trying to convince viewers that there's a lot going on and introducing a bunch of new stuff every second, just let the story develop and unfold naturally.

Logic

The overall logic of the show and of what the characters are capable of doing deserves so much more love. The Gabriel and Loki episode… What even was that?

How does it make sense that the characters who at this point can't find the Akrida can just outsmart the Trickster? Some things can't happen, and there's nothing wrong with admitting it.

Attention to details

While some details are off throughout the entire season, the time setting is a big thing.

To make the viewers really believe that the action is taking place in the past, every tiny detail has to be on point. Throwing in some hippies in the woods doesn't cut it; the right color of shoelaces does.

At its current state, The Winchesters is lacking in this department, either because of not taking the time setting details seriously or because of overlooking too many mistakes.
