Although it’s not like we won’t hope for the better, right?
There are only a few shows that managed to catch the attention of both teens and adults equally. And Tim Burton’s Wednesday is one of them. When the show first arrived on the platform it immediately became a big deal, stating records on ratings and viewership.
The first season of the show premiered in November 2022, and it was soon announced that the second chapter was coming as well. However, it took the team a while to start production, so it officially started in April 2024. But as for last December, it was already confirmed that the filming was finished. That means it's time for post-production!
Recently, some very attentive fans discovered a story on the Instagram account of Brazilian actress Marianna Alexandre, who is also a voiceover actor of Wednesday in Portuguese. She took a picture of the poster of the series and wrote something like "Let's work because there's so much to do!".
Fans immediately began speculating about when the new season would premiere if the dubbing process had already begun? And there were some interesting ideas, especially from the ones who say they are familiar with how the industry works.
“Depending on the amount of dialogue and the length, this is likely to be a 2 to 3 month process. The voice actors need to record all the lines, then those need to get edited in. There is usually quite a bit of back and forth on this, as the editor/director may ask the voice actor to re-record lines either slower or faster to fit the visual better,” Redditor Least-Moose3738 said.
It's important to keep in mind that this is not official yet. And while it usually takes 2-3 months to finish a series the size of Wednesday, that doesn't mean it can't be done sooner or later.
Wednesday Season 2 Better Not Miss the Opportunity of a Perfect Release Window
The first season of the show premiered on November 23, but there's a catch. The thing is, many fans were disappointed that the series landed on Netflix after Halloween.
“I think they probably did it to avoid getting lost in the mix of all the movies that are played around Halloween. There’s so many streaming services and even cable channels that flood viewers with Halloween stuff so maybe they did it so they could be in the spotlight a little more instead of lost in the mix,” one Redditor said.
Tim Burton is famous for his gory works, so having Wednesday 2 come out anytime before the holiday is perfect. And this time fans will be ready.
