The movie won an Oscar just several days ago and is landing on digital platforms this week.

Just a week after the Oscars ceremony wrapped Hollywood’s awards season up, the Academy Award’s nominees have already seen some additional boosts to their critical or commercial success, with movies like the Best Picture winner Anora getting a couple more millions in the box office worldwide.

Others, however, are just about to make it to becoming available for wider audiences, and one of this year’s Oscar winners might be the most anticipated streaming arrival in recent months.

Starring Best Actress nominee Fernanda Torres, the movie delves into a complicated part of Brazilian history and eventually brought its country a well-deserved prestigious award.

I’m Still Here Will Arrive on Streaming This Week

Released only in select theatres back in January, the Brazilian drama I’m Still Here is one of the last Oscar winners to finally land on digital platforms as, according to When to Stream, the movie will be on streaming starting from March 11.

Directed by Walter Salles, the heart-shattering political drama is based on real events and follows Fernanda Torres’ Eunice Paiva, a mother of five children trying to keep things together when her husband and Brazilian dissident politician Rubens Paiva is forcibly taken out of their house and eventually killed.

As she is seen coping with the injustice her whole family has had to suffer, Eunice delves into the matter, finding out about more atrocities of Brazilian military dictatorship and years after becoming a lawyer and political activist herself.

I’m Still Here Rightfully Surpassed Emilia Pérez in the Best International Feature Category

Just several weeks before the Oscars ceremony that took place on March 2, it was expected that Jacques Audiard’s criminal musical drama Emilia Pérez would most likely take home the award for Best International Feature Film.

However, tabled turned radically when the movie became an even more controversial matter once Karla Sofía Gascón’s tweet scandal took a global scale.

To everyone’s relief, the award ultimately went to I’m Still Here which, as many have stated throughout months, deserved the Academy’s recognition, and not only in regard to nominations.

Naturally, I’m Still Here had a major success even before receiving nods from the Academy and still holds impressive scores of 97% from both critics and viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.
