Stanger Things managed to become one of the biggest hits in the history of Netflix, as reflected by the massive increase in effort and funding, which went into its later seasons.

However, Stranger Things is still likely to end up as a fairly short TV series. By now we can be all but certain that it is going to end with Season 5.

Not only it is clear that by Season 4 its storyline is moving towards conclusion, as the kid part of the cast grows older, new seasons become difficult to imagine. When even a filmmaker as distinguished as James Cameron mentions this issue and says that more season of the series are hard to envision, you know that Stranger Things are not going to last much longer.

And now Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, joined all the people from the cast and the crew who think that Stranger Things aren't going to continue past Season 5, and in fact shouldn't do so. As he said in an interview with Uproxx:

"Also, to me, if Stranger Things went on any longer than five, I would say it would be ridiculous. I think the Duffer brothers figured out, I would imagine, a perfect ending in five. We didn't even know if we'd do two. So, we're happy that people still are around and want to watch it."

So, here we also have another indirect confirmation that the Duffer brothers had plans for the whole series from the beginning, even at the stage when they were not sure whether Netflix is going to greenlight anything past the first season.

All the more reasons to expect that they manage to stick the landing and craft a satisfying conclusion for us.

As Finn says about the prospects of Season 5:

"…I think I'd like to see the fifth season draw back on more of the dynamics of season one, and sort of be a little more contained, but also still be gigantic. I hope we kind of get an ending for each character that's pretty satisfying for fans."

So do hope we all.
