Everything looks almost too good to be true.

Summary:

  • Fallout is a successful franchise of post-apocalyptic role-playing video games that has now been adapted into a television series by Amazon Prime Video.
  • While the first glimpse into the Fallout TV universe looks promising, fans are not too convinced to watch the show.
  • Due to the new trend of premature series cancellations, many are afraid to invest in the story.

The days when news of upcoming shows was greeted with sheer excitement are sadly over. In the post-strike era of entertainment, fans can't seem to stop worrying about the fate of the shows they enjoy, let alone the shows that haven't even come out yet.

With every other day bringing news of another cancellation, it's no wonder people are afraid the same thing will happen to the shows they love. Of course, those productions with high ratings and active fandoms can feel a little more secure, even in unstable times like these.

Others, however, continue to shudder at every other update from a major streaming service or TV network. It's the positive news that is now met with more trepidation than any kind of pessimistic update.

The first look at Amazon Prime's upcoming series Fallout, shared by Vanity Fair, fell victim to the same notion of studio distrust. With so many beautiful shots and the universe of the beloved game franchise perfectly captured in detail, it seems there is no reason to be afraid anymore.

X (formerly known as Twitter) users, however, disagree. In the competitive field of entertainment, creating a show has always been only half the battle, the other half is keeping it alive against the odds of the industry.

Audience support is often the key to longevity, but what are producers to do when audiences are too scared to get involved in the first place? Unfortunately for filmmakers in general, and the Fallout team in particular, there is no sure answer to this question.

However, the overall positive reaction to the images, which give potential viewers a glimpse of the characters, their costumes, and the set design, should be considered a promising start. If the worst criticism of the show's look is that it's "too clean," there's hope that Fallout will be a complete success when it comes out.

The Fallout TV series starring Yellowjackets ’ Ella Purnell as Lucy is set to premiere on April 12, 2024. Make sure to tune in to Amazon Prime Video to not miss a single thing.
