First Look at 'Leanne': Netflix’s New Comedy from Chuck Lorre and Leanne Morgan

Heartfelt comedy about reinvention after heartbreak.
Netflix has released the first trailer for Leanne, its upcoming comedy series co-created by Leanne Morgan, Chuck Lorre, and Susan McMartin. The multicam sitcom follows Leanne (Morgan), whose life is turned upside down when her husband of 33 years unexpectedly leaves her for a younger woman.
The trailer opens with Morgan’s voiceover:
“You take a vow, and then 33 years of complete and utter devotion, you find out he’s run off with a younger woman,” At one point, a distraught Leanne says, “Look what he’s turned me into. I’m like Hulk Hogan with breasts.”
Supported by her family, including her fiercely loyal sister Carol, Leanne learns to embrace the chaos, discovering strength, laughter, and hope in the most unexpected places. The show’s logline promises a heartfelt comedy that proves it’s never too late to rewrite your story.
Executive producers include McMartin, Lorre, Morgan, Nick Bakay, and Judi Marmel. Alongside Morgan and Johnston, the cast features Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Ryan Stiles, Graham Rogers, and Hannah Pilkes, with Tim Daly, Jayma Mays, Annie Gonzalez, and Blake Gibbons in recurring roles.
Produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Leanne is set to premiere on Netflix on 31 July.
