Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* is finally in theaters. Florence Pugh talks about her Guinness World Record stunt.

The highly anticipated Thunderbolts* has finally hit theaters. The film has already received great reviews from critics and audiences alike, holding an impressive 88% critics score and a whopping 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Florence Pugh leads the cast that's taking superhero movies to new heights (figuratively and literally).

What Stunt in Thunderbolts* Got Florence Pugh Her Guinness World Record?

Back in April, during her talk with Harper's Bazaar, Pugh said:

“I got to do a stunt that has never been done before. My double, the female co-ordinator and I are all now Guinness World Record holders!”

The record she was referring to was jumping off the Merdeka, a jaw-dropping 118-story skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Merdeka is the second tallest building in the world. And yes, Pugh had to convince Kevin Feige to greenlight this stunt.

What Does Florence Pugh Think About Her Guinness World Record?

In the film's featurette, Pugh seemed very enthusiastic to perform the stunt.

“I've been excited about this since I read the first page of the script,” she said.

Speaking to Variety, Pugh revealed the true spirit behind this death-defying feat:

“I wanted to do that stunt because I knew that it meant that we all got to do it. Like, yes, I got to jump off the second-tallest building in the world, but so did we all. That day in Malaysia was an achievement for all of us. We all got to say that we worked on that stunt, and what an impressive and powerful way to start a movie!”

Florence Pugh's Grandma Is Not That Impressed

While most grandparents would be having heart attacks at the mere thought of their grandchildren jumping off a skyscraper, Pugh's grandmother had a rather unexpected reaction. In the same interview, Pugh shared:

“She loved the movie. She said, ‘Brilliant, darling. Very thrilling,’ but I didn’t ask her what she thought of the jump. She’s also crazy, like she’s someone that does some pretty mad stuff, so maybe she just thought that was a walk in the park.”

Where Can I Watch Thunderbolts in May 2025?
