For the fans of jaw-dropping stories.

True crime genre is getting more and more popular each day and there’s no secret why: gripping stories about things that seem impossible in real life. However, what makes them even more exciting for the viewers is the fact that what is shown on screen has actually happened in reality, and that just makes people lose their minds.

One of the recently released true crime dramas is Netflix ’s Baby Reindeer. The miniseries tells the gripping story of the performer Richard Gadd, who at his young age was harassed by a female stalker.

The story is powerful and already got 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, but here we have 5 more jaw-dropping series that follow real-life terrifying stories.

1. When They See Us (2019)

When They See Us is just 3% short of a perfect score, but that means nothing in this case because the series is considered the best true crime of all time. It revolves around 5 teenage boys known as the Central Park Five.

The story revolves around the event that took place in 1989 when a jogger was raped in Central Park and the blame was put on 5 Black and Latino boys. The series does a brilliant job of giving the viewers the deep and profound story of each boy involved in the case. The terrible miscarriage that happened due to the wrongful conviction settlement breaks your heart.

2. Unbelievable (2019)

Another of the best true crime shows of all time is the Netflix miniseries Unbelievable. It focuses on the case of a young woman, Marie, who was only 18 years old when she was raped, but was ultimately wronged by police who didn't believe her as a victim and literally forced her to withdraw her report.

The story of serial rapist Marc O'Leary and Marie is a difficult one, and the dramatization of it on screen tackles a lot of difficult issues, including the lack of training in the police force, the high likelihood of police misconduct, and the injustice to rape victims.

3. Impeachment: American Crime Story (2021)

At the center of this drama is a well-known political scandal involving Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, whose sexual relationship is one of the most talked about affairs in U.S. history. Beanie Feldstein went above and beyond to give a convincing performance as Monica Lewinsky, portraying the young woman's vulnerability.

“Just binge watched this series and was captivated. I was too young when this happened to really know what was going on, but after watching some footage I am so impressed with how all these actors picked up on the mannerisms of the real people. Sarah Paulson really hit it out of the park. I hope others are enjoying the series as well,” Redditor Dawnrain_14 said.

4. A Friend Of The Family (2022)

Another must-see for true crime fans is this Peacock masterpiece. The story at the center of the series is so strange and unbelievable that it's impossible to keep it straight. It revolves around the terrible things that happened to Jan Broberg.

An old friend of her family, Bob Berchtold, once kidnapped the little girl and held her captive for a long time for some bizarre reasons. But then he somehow managed to convince her parents not to press charges. Which only resulted in him kidnapping and molesting her at the age of 14.

The real Jan Broberg helped create the show and even played a small part in the series because she thought it was important to do so.

5. The Dropout (2022)

This true crime drama tells the story of Elizabeth Holmes' rise from a Stanford student to the head of a major corporation. The way the show handles the provocative subject matter is simply brilliant, and Amanda Seyfried's performance is so believable and absolutely stunning.

“I thought it was good. Amanda Seyfried nailed the role of Elizabeth Holmes imo and the guy who played Sunny did a really good job at playing a total creep. I think they needed at least 2 more episodes because the ending felt rushed but overall I thought it was good,” Redditor TeHNyboR said.
