Forget Common Sandwiches: This 15-Minute Japanese "Sando" Hack is a Total Game Changer
This recipe will likely become your only way to make sandwiches at home.
When it comes to choosing what to eat fast and stay full right until the next mealtime, sandwiches usually work the best. However, some of the most popular ones might not taste the same after so many times, which is why many people tend to explore new options for sandwich filling.
This Japanese sando might be just what they’re looking for — what you’ll end up with is the most tender bread accompanied by savory and crispy filling.
Ingredients: 200 g of ham (sliced to fit the bread), 8 slices of toast, 100 g of flour, 100 g of breadcrumbs, 1 egg, 4 lettuce leaves, 1–2 tomatoes, 4 slices of cheese, 2 tbsp of ketchup, 1/2 tsp of mustard, 1 tsp of soy sauce, 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, vegetable oil for frying.
Cut off the crusts from the slices of bread. Cut the ham into thick slices. In a bowl, mix together the ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce to make a rich sauce.
Coat the ham: first in flour, then in egg, and finally in breadcrumbs. Fry in hot oil until golden and crispy on both sides.
Spread the sauce on the bread, then layer a lettuce leaf, warm ham, a slice of cheese, and tomato slices. Top with the second slice of bread and press down gently.
Cut the sandwich into pieces.
