Sometimes, you just don't need yet another subscription.

You might be surprised to learn that, aside from Prime Video, Amazon has another streaming service which is completely free to use if you are okay with ads — Freevee.

Just in case you wanted to broaden your streaming horizons without overpaying for it, here are 10 best original shows on Freevee you can check out for free.

10. Desperate Housewives (2004-2012)

Why yes, you absolutely can binge this classic with Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, and Eva Longoria for free! The campy show is definitely a go-to for everyone who needs a comfort show about the messy lives of four women — especially when your own messy life is just too much to handle.

9. The Good Wife ( 2009-2016)

Need a legal drama for free? The Good Wife on Freevee is your choice if you feel like watching something more thought-provoking than just yet another sitcom. The show takes us on a wild ride with a mother who has to return to being a lawyer after her husband gets behind bars following a huge scandal. The performance of Julianna Margulies on this show has earned her two Emmys, by the way.

8. High School (2022)

While everyone is binging Euphoria, stand out and go for something delightfully 90s and grungy but way more innocent at the same time. High School is your choice if you're up for a coming-of-age drama but not really into drugs and nudity all the time.

7. Lost (2004–2010)

Back to all-time classics that are available for free, Freevee offers you a journey back to Lost and its place crush survivors. Not all seasons are necessarily equally strong and exciting to watch, but early chapters of Lost are what gives us hope in television.

6. Schitt's Creek (2015-2020)

As we all secretly crave a Schitt's Creek movie, Schitt's Creek TV show is available to watch for free. No matter how hard real life is, you can always go back to God knows where and follow the Rose family as it struggles with its new status and uses sarcasm as its only available currency.

5. The Twilight Zone (1959–1964)

Putting the "old" in "old school", aren't we? If you have already lost hope in all things modern, then Freevee gives you a perfect opportunity to check out one of the most iconic horror anthology series ever. Just maybe not at night.

4. The X-Files (1993–2002, 2016 & 2018)

When we said "iconic", we meant it. You can watch the entirety of The X-Files for free, just make sure nostalgia doesn't break your heart. As FBI special agents investigate the supernatural, we know that the biggest phenomenon is The X-Files reboot getting a green light in the 2020s...

3. Jury Duty (2023)

This is a seasoned Freevee classic. First of all, it's a cringey mockumentary that might as well teach The Office a lesson or two. Secondly, it revolves around a juror member who's not aware that basically everything going on in the courtroom is fiction.

2. Hell's Kitchen (2005–present)

If you prefer reality shows to literally everything else, then forget everything and turn on Hell's Kitchen so that Gordon Ramsay can just yell at everyone as you peacefully observe. And make sure you bring snacks with you — in case you're unaware, the show is about teams of chefs who are split into teams and tasked with various (and hellish) culinary challenges.

1. Fringe (2008–2013)

How can a show be a household name and a criminally underrated gem at the same time? With this sci-fi drama classic, it's somehow possible. Fringe takes us on a journey that's basically The X-Files with a Doctor Who sprinkle on it. A special FBI taskforce explores the unexplored (and unexplained) — and it's always about a sci-fi twist that's borderline magical and supernatural.
