Forget the Can! This Silky 20-Minute Tomato Soup Is the Only Comfort Food You Need
All you need is some simple ingredients and half an hour of your time for preparing.
We’re now officially over with long winter days, which means it’s time to add some more vegetables to our food routine. The classic tomato soup has long been a perfect choice for those craving for something light and refreshing for dinner.
Another big advantage is that this soup is also very easy to make and requires only four essential ingredients that you can get from any local grocery store.
Here’s what you need: 1 onion, 5 cloves of garlic, 800 g of tomatoes in their own juice, 1 cup of water, salt and black pepper to taste, 1 tablespoon of butter.
Peel the onion, dice it into small cubes. Peel the garlic, press it through a garlic press.
Heat a saucepan. Add a piece of butter and melt it completely. Add the onion and fry until translucent, stirring occasionally. Add the garlic. Stir the ingredients and cook for a few more minutes.
Add the canned tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper.
Add a cup of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool slightly. Purée the soup using an immersion blender.
Return the pot to the heat and bring to a boil. That’s it, the tomato puree soup is ready to serve. Before serving, you can sprinkle the dish with fresh herbs.
