Forget Yellowstone, Netflix Will Get Its Perfect Replacement in April

Just like Taylor Sheridan’s hit series, Netflix’s future Western show is led by a big star.
Despite wrapping its last season up back in 2024, Taylor Sheridan ’s successful Western drama Yellowstone remains one of top choices in the vast collection of series on Netflix, though it might soon be joined by another potential hit of the genre.
Starring Transformers ’ actor Josh Duhamel, the upcoming show promises to offer its viewers yet another steamy and entangled story unfolding somewhere with Texas wildlife-ish landscapes behind; additionally, it will arrive on streaming much sooner than any of Sheridan’s ongoing series.
Ransom Canyon Will Arrive on Netflix in April
As it was revealed a couple of weeks ago by Deadline, Ransom Canyon is set to land on Netflix on April 17, with all episodes of its first season arriving on the platform at the same time.
Based on Jodi Thomas’ series of books, the show is a promising new take on the life in Western-y decorations, though this time there might be a little more romantic drama involved after all.
According to Deadline’s report, Ransom Canyon’s storyline will revolve around three ranching family dynasties trying to take over control of the land they tend to own; however, some outside forces will make them change their plans as the show will see all of them struggling to keep their life from complete destruction.
“At the center of it all is stoic rancher Staten Kirkland (Duhamel), who is healing from heartbreaking loss and on a quest for vengeance. Staten’s only glimmer of hope rests in the eyes and heart of Quinn O’Grady (Kelly), longtime family friend and owner of the local dancehall. But as the battle to save Ransom wages on, a mysterious cowboy drifts into town, dredging up secrets from the past. Vise tightening, Staten fights to protect the land he calls home, and the only love that can pull him back from the demons that haunt him”, the official longline reads.
Apart from Duhamel, the future show also stars James Brolin, Eoin Macken, Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, Jack Schumacher and others.
Meanwhile, Taylor Sheridan Isn’t Done With Western Genre Yet
Despite finishing things with Yellowstone, Sheridan continues exploring Western-y stories, and one of those has just got back to the screens with its second season.
A prequel to Yellowstone, a drama show 1923 starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford had its second instalment’s first episode premiering a couple of days ago, with the last one set to wrap it all up for the series on April 13.
Additionally, Sheridan is also booked and busy with developing a new season for Landman, the start of the production for which is scheduled for February 28.
