It’s not a competition, but Fox’s schedule wins in intrigue.

Summary:

  • The WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes have made the production of most scripted television impossible.
  • Now that the strikes are over, the networks are back to releasing updated schedules.
  • Fox surprised fans with an unexpected move of Family Guy from Sundays to Wednesdays, but remains tight-lipped on 911: Lone Star.

As soon as the SAG-AFTRA strikes were officially settled and the announcement was made that actors would be returning to sets, the studios and networks began working on their new release schedules.

As much as many people feared that they wouldn't see anything new for another half of the year, CBS, ABC, and now Fox have all proven their commitment to working under time constraints to deliver something by the end of winter 2024.

Fans of 911, Grey's Anatomy, Young Sheldon, and many other shows that have been on hiatus for the longest time are now happy to have a date to look forward to. Of course, the strikes didn't go unnoticed: the shows will release shorter seasons, and for some of them it would be the final ones, but still.

The best feeling is just knowing that the television we all know and love will soon return with the best possible working conditions for the writers and actors, and with new perspectives on our favorite titles as well. Another network to join the schedule reveal party recently was Fox.

And this lineup may be the most intriguing yet.

Fox Winter Timetable Review

For starters, the network will be stepping forward and releasing some of the shows not in February or even March, but in early January.

Starting the very first weeks of the new year, the viewers would be introduced to not one, but two new shows. A physical quiz show The Floor premieres January 2, and We Are Family, the show that shines a light on the celebrities’ non-famous relatives, premieres on January 3.

On Sunday, January 7, the return with a new season would be made by The Great North. It will be followed by the return of America’s Most Wanted on January 22. Starting this date, the show will take Monday’s 9 p.m. slot.

Moving on to March, the channel will premiere the new season of The Cleaning Lady on March 5, at 8 p.m. The next day, on March 6, the new season of Family Guy comes around at 9.30 p.m. What makes this premiere special is an unexpected move. For the first time in two decades, Family Guy loses its usual Sunday spot and moves over to air on Wednesdays.

The one premiere of an upcoming season that is still bothering fans the most is 911: Lone Star. However, there is no information on when the new season 5 of the show is expected to air. Its sister show 911, which was moved to ABC earlier this year, however, already got its release date of March 14.
