From 'BoJack Horseman' Creator: Netflix Drops Trailer of New Animated Comedy & I'm Already Obsessed

As a devoted animated series fan, I can’t miss any new show in the genre. Especially when it comes from Raphael Bob-Waksberg.
Anyone who is into cartoons for adults is probably obsessed with BoJack Horseman, a show about a once famous TV star turned into an alcoholic and sort of a loser. I saw many short videos from the series before actually tuning in, and I was absolutely devastated to learn that the show is not a lighthearted bright-colored comedy, but a drama that will either cure you at the end or make your depression deeper.
So when the news got out that Raphael Bob-Waksberg is creating another series, it took me half a second to make a decision to watch it.
The new series called Long Story Short will come out on Netflix on August 22, and the platform has just released the first trailer.
Have a look first, and we will discuss it.
What Is ‘Long Story Short’ About?
It was previously revealed that the new series will be a family show with many quirky characters and never-ending drama. However the trailer made it clear that the level of dysfunctionality the family is currently in.
Long Story Short follows the Schwooper family, going through their whole life by jumping back and forth between past and present. The trailer starts with their failed attempt to play a board game together, and even a little task like that seems impossible for them because of how strong-minded and angry they all are.
Why ‘Long Story Short’ Is Definitely a Must-Watch: My Take
The trailer then revealed the many other disagreements and disappointments the family members went through and the awkward positions they each have put each other through life.
So despite the fact that it’s written “comedy” on all the slogans, I am 100% sure that the series is going to be 20% lighthearted jokes and 80% heavy real life drama that will haunt you at night.
Just like with BoJack, the new show will go to many dark places in order to make its viewers feel things they didn't even know they could. And I am ready for that!
