Gen V: When and WHY Will Soldier Boy Make Appearance?
We're already five episodes in, but Ackles hasn't made his cameo yet.
Fans of The Boys absolutely enjoyed Jensen Ackles ’ portrayal of Soldier Boy, a character who debuted in season 3. For many, he absolutely stole every scene he was in.
Ackles was confirmed to appear in the show’s ongoing spinoff, Gen V, as well. The show's been pretty enjoyable even without Soldier Boy, but there are only three episodes left before the spinoff wraps up, and Ackles still hasn't made an appearance.
Well, you can breathe out as Soldier Boy should finally make an appearance in the next episode, according to the teaser video posted by GEN V on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, he boldly states, "surprise, you motherf***ers." Yes, Soldier Boy knows how to make a comeback.
Now, the million-dollar question — what's Soldier Boy doing in Gen V? The show revolves around young superheroes studying at the Godolkin University, managed by Vought International. What does Soldier Boy have to do with any of it?
For those who need a reminder, last time we saw Soldier Boy after a showdown in the finale of season 3, he was taken by Grace Mallory, the former Deputy Director of the CIA and the founder of The Boys.
Some believe that after the events of the season 3 finale, Soldier Boy will be back on Vought's payroll. The idea is that he'll be the one to clean up the mess in Godolkin University (maybe The Woods), especially if things keep escalating until the end of the season.
Another theory is that Neuman might pull some strings to have Soldier Boy used for black ops missions by the government. This could be a form of parole for him. Given his disdain for Vought and Homelander, he could be the perfect secret weapon against both.
But here's the craziest idea: what if it's not really Soldier Boy? Some fans pointed out that we saw a shape-shifter in a recent episode. Could it be that Soldier Boy's appearance is just the shape-shifter in disguise? It could be a cool twist, but it might also be a bit of a letdown.
