Get Ready to See David Tennant in This Upcoming Star-Studded Murder Thriller

Ever since it was announced that Netflix and Steven Spielberg 's production company, Amblin, would be adapting Richard Osman's bestselling 2020 novel The Thursday Murder Club, fans have been eagerly anticipating the chance to see their favorite amateur detectives come to life on the big screen.

We don’t know much about the upcoming movie, but we do know that it’s going to be legendary at least because of the cast that is already confirmed. They literally pulled out the big guns with this one!

For instance, Helen Mirren is flawlessly cast as Elizabeth Best, the sharp-minded former spy at the heart of the operation. Sir Ben Kingsley portrays the quiet ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim Arif. Pierce Brosnan brings to life Ron Richie, the no-nonsense former union activist. And Celia Imrie plays the beloved character, Joyce Meadowcroft, a former nurse.

It was later revealed that another brilliant actor is joining the cast. David Tennant, whom we know from at least Doctor Who and Good Omens, is going to play the role of Ian Ventham. The fans are curious to see how the actor will do, and they say “Ian is very much Tennant's thing.”

What The Thursday Murder Club is about?

The movie follows a group of friends – Joyce, Elizabeth, Ron, and Ibrahim – who live in a retirement home and meet every Thursday to solve cold case murders… just for fun. But when a new case arrives, things take an unexpected turn.

So what starts as a harmless hobby quickly becomes a real and dangerous mystery. As they get more involved, the gang finds themselves determined to help the police catch the right suspect, no matter the risk.

Described by Netflix as "a whodunit with teeth – fake ones, of course", the movie promises to be a fun, thrilling murder mystery adventure. And with such a brilliant cast, there's no chance it won't be a hit.

The filming of the movie wrapped up in September last year. And it’s confirmed it’s coming in 2025.
