It was no surprise that this director's gangster series with such a GOAT cast would end up a success, but no one at Paramount+ expected such high numbers.

Guy Ritchie ’s new mafia series titled MobLand just became a true game-changer on Paramount+, with the show’s audience soaring 298% in just one week after the premiere (via Deadline).

MobLand, starring A-listers like Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, Anson Boon, and Pierce Brosnan, is already breaking streaming records. For Paramount+, it is the biggest global series premiere week ever.

Just the first episode has now drawn 8.8 million viewers — a week earlier, it was 2.2 million (still a record-breaker for Paramount+, by the way).

What Is MobLand About?

MobLand centers on the escalating conflict between two rival London crime families – the Harrigans and the Stevensons.

Pierce Brosnan stars as Conrad Harrigan, the powerful patriarch whose grip on the family's criminal empire is threatened by mounting tensions. Tom Hardy portrays Harry Da Souza, a fixer caught in the crossfire, tasked with protecting the Harrigans and making sure the feud is not turning into an all-out war.

MobLand is executive produced and directed by Guy Ritchie. It is his first television series for Paramount+. The series was originally developed as a spinoff of Showtime 's Ray Donovan, but was later reworked as a stand-alone and moved from Showtime to Paramount+.

What Do Fans and Critics Think of MobLand?

  • On Rotten Tomatoes, MobLand has 79% from critics and 70% from the audience.
  • On IMDb, MobLand has 8.2/10.

“I enjoyed the premiere. Reminds me of a more serious Netflix The Gentleman series since it was produced by Guy Ritchie too. Hopefully it doesn’t get cancelled and doesn’t get replaced by another Western or police drama,” Redditor waitmyhonor said.

Where to Watch MobLand & When Does the Next Episode Air?

MobLand is available to stream on Paramount+. The first two episodes are already there for you; Episode 3 will be released on Sunday, April 13.
