HBO’s Harry Potter reboot series isn’t coming until 2027, but there’s another wizard-themed series you can watch in the meantime.

While something is cooking up for HBO’s Harry Potter series after the production start this week, it doesn’t mean the diehard fans of JK Rowling’s wizarding world will get to enjoy this anytime soon.

Despite the initial reports suggesting that the show’s first season will be released in 2026, HBO has confirmed that the premiere was now pushed to 2027 instead, potentially to give the series’ creators more time to helm the first two installments.

However, the good news is that it’s not only the Harry Potter movie series that fans are doomed to rewatch over and over again, since one more themed show has been there all along since last year.

‘Harry Potter: Wizards Of Baking’ Features the Movie Franchise’s Favorites — Season 2 Is Coming

Hosted by Fred and George Weasley’s actors James and Oliver Phelps, Harry Potter: Wizards Of Baking is a cooking competition show that tests renowned bakers and pastry chefs’ imagination and creativity while making Harry Potter-themed cakes.

The series is filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, which also served as the primary filming location for all Harry Potter movies, meaning that Wizards Of Baking also gives its participants an exclusive access to the actual film set.

Apart from competing for the title, chefs have an opportunity to revisit Harry Potter’s most iconic locations, including The Great Hall at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Platform 9¾, Gringotts Wizarding Bank and The Burrow.

Wizards of Baking also starred some of the franchise’s actors like Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), with more special guests coming in the recently announced season 2.

Harry Potter: Wizards Of Baking is currently available for streaming on HBO Max.

‘Harry Potter’ Seasons 1 and 2 Will Reportedly Be Filmed Back-to-Back

It seems like there won’t be a big gap between the future show’s first two seasons, but fans will still have to wait for quite enough now.

According to a recent report from Redanian Intelligence, HBO might have delayed the first season’s release until 2027 just to film the second instalment as well, with the second season production start currently scheduled for July 2026.

Apart from that, HBO might have also had a change of heart about the episode count, reducing the amount from eight to six.

There’s nothing yet to say about Harry Potter’s further seasons, but they might be staying with eight episodes until the production changes something.
