Helluva Boss: does Loona die, and will she be back when the show returns in 2027?
Helluva Boss put its favorite hellhound in real danger just before the season's first half wrapped, and fans have spent the break checking her pulse.
Helluva Boss is Vivienne Medrano's adult animated musical comedy about I.M.P., a tiny company of imp assassins who travel from Hell to kill humans on commission. Loona, voiced by Erica Lindbeck, is the hellhound that boss Blitzø adopted and the company's eye-rolling receptionist. After two seasons on YouTube, the show moved to Prime Video for Season 3, which premiered on October 14, 2026. Part 1 ran seven episodes through October 28.
What happens to Loona in "Return to Loo Loo Land"
Episode 6 sends Blitzø and his old friend Fizzarolli back to Loo Loo Land, the amusement park from the show's second episode. The park's Robo-Fizz has bigger ambitions than mascot duty: it wants to skin Fizz and become the "real Fizz."
The robot captures Fizz, and Blitzø runs. Loona is the one who goes in. She saves Fizz, then gets stabbed by Robo-Fizz while saving Blitzø.
Fizz finishes the fight by tearing the robot's head off. Blitzø keeps the head.
Does Loona die?
No. Loona survives the stabbing.
Episode 7, "YES/NO," is the Part 1 finale, and it shows her still recovering from what the show treats as a near-fatal injury. She's sidelined for that one, and Blitzø goes on a job with his estranged sister, Barbie Wire. Striker, the cowboy bounty hunter, attacks Blitzø underwater, Barbie saves him, and then she leaves through a portal to Hell with Striker.

So the last time viewers see Loona before the break, she's injured but alive.
Barbie saved Blitzø from drowning, then left with the man who tried to drown him.
Will Loona be back in 2027?
Yes. Season 3 has 15 episodes, and Part 2 brings the remaining eight in 2027. Prime Video hasn't set a date. As with Part 1, episodes will reach YouTube 45 days after their Prime Video premiere.

The show isn't ending in 2027 either. Helluva Boss has two more seasons planned after this one.
Lindbeck has already hinted at where Loona is headed. In a July 2026 interview with Bubbleblabber, before Season 3 aired, she said: "I think she's going on a journey of self-discovery." Part of that journey, she said, is Loona "realizing that the world is not out to hurt her."
Less than four months later, a robot stabbed her.
For the record: Blitzø still has the robot's head.
