Warning: the following article contains spoilers for 'Stranger Things ' season 4

Season 4 of 'Stranger Things' was definitely not kind to Max Mayfield: following the gruesome death of her brother Billy in season 3, Sadie Sink 's character has spent the new season suffering from nightmares and quickly becomes a target for Vecna – the new villain.

In 'Dear Billy', Max appears to confront Vecna and nearly becomes one of his victims, but, luckily for her, her friends use her favorite music to grasp Max out of the villain's hands from the Upside Down.

The emotional journey of Sadie Sink's character was so compelling that fans are now rallying online and pushing her for an Emmy nomination for her performance.

Many people have already praised Sink as one of the most promising young actresses of her generation.

Due to Sadie Sink's performance, 'Dear Billy' has already been anointed by many fans as the season's best episode so far. Besides, the episode had people relieved about Max's fate (for now), as fans have spent this whole time fearing for her life since they first saw her levitating on the graveyard.

Still, Volume 2 is coming on July 1 and it might as well have a lot of surprises for Max and the rest of the Hawkins gang.
