Here’s How to Make Rich, Velvety Spaghetti Sauce in Just 20 Minutes
The pure taste of Italy right in your own kitchen.
Italian cuisine might be famous thanks to the variety of pasta and pizza, but we also should thank the country for introducing so many delicious sauces to serve dishes with. Those include the now iconic spaghetti sauce made with canned or fresh tomatoes and basil, giving a refreshing taste to any kind of pasta you choose.
The sauce itself is extremely easy to make at home, so save the recipe for the next time you decide to make paste for lunch or dinner.
Here’s what you need: 500 g of fresh tomatoes (or 400 g of canned tomatoes in their own juice), 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tbsp of olive oil, 1 tsp of sugar (optional), 1 tsp of oregano or basil, salt, pepper.
Peel the tomatoes and puree them in a blender (or use canned tomatoes in their own juice).
Heat the olive oil in a skillet and fry the garlic until fragrant.
Add the chopped tomatoes, sugar, salt, pepper, and herbs.
Simmer over low heat for 15–20 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
Serve with pasta, sprinkled with fresh herbs.
