High Potential Renewed For Season 2: Here's Everything We Know

A good-old procedural will always be in demand, especially if the main star of the show is a weirdo of sorts. A titular character that knows everything is not annoying; on the contrary, it’s exciting to see how a superior mind works, right?

Well, Drew Goddard’s series High Potential on ABC seems to have won some hearts, because the new show is already renewed for season 2, even though the first chapter is yet to be concluded. Season 1 turned out to be a huge success and already scored 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, so it’s only natural that people demanded more.

When Will High Potential Season 2 Come Out?

We don’t know yet whether there is a premiere date set, but it’s highly likely that the new season will come soon, considering the success of the series. The most appropriate time for a comeback seems to be in the Fall 2025 slate.

Season 1 premiered in September 2024, so season 2 could also arrive around the same time unless ABC holds it until later.

What Is High Potential About?

The series centers on Morgan, a single mother of three. But she is not just your regular mother, she has a condition called "high intellectual potential," which explains her exceptional mind. Thanks to it, she ends up as a counselor for the LAPD, although she started as a janitor there.

In the department, she sort of befriends detective Karadec, and together they start solving crimes professionally. But Morgan has a secret… She lost her husband Roman many years ago, and now she made a deal with police so that they would help her find him.

The fans love the show for many things, but the first is Kaitlin Olson’s quirky character and brilliant acting.

“It's nothing groundbreaking or anything unique but it's fun. I love people's comparisons to it being like a USA Blue Sky type of show. Kaitlin Olson really sells me with Morgan, I do like that she has her own family instead of her being a single childless woman; it adds different type of stakes to her character,” Redditor jdessy said.

While it's still unclear what season 2 will reveal, it's obvious that it will bring some news about Roman's disappearance and definitely delve deeper into Morgan's newly developing love life.
