'High Potential' Season 2: Everything We Know About It

The success of High Potential ensured another season. However, the recent news has given fans something more to obsess about. Stay with us to learn the latest details!
ABC's crime dramedy High Potential created a huge fandom thanks to its unique blend of humor, heart, and just the right amount of mystery. Starring Kaitlin Olson as Morgan Gillory, a brilliant yet unconventional cleaning woman turned police consultant, the series quickly became one of the network's most-watched new shows.
Following its success, ABC renewed the series for a second season, with production set to begin in May 2025. And it was also recently revealed that the new season comes bearing gifts: while the first chapter had only 13 episodes, the new one will have 18 episodes.
The series star, Javicia Leslie, who plays the role of Daphne in the series, recently told that to TVLine on the carpet at the Disney Upfront. She said:
“With 18 episodes, we’ll get a little more breathing room to just enjoy our time. We worked really hard to get in what we got in.”
What to Expect in Season 2 of ‘High Potential’?
Season 2 is poised to delve deeper into the overarching mystery that captivated fans: the 15-year disappearance of Morgan's ex-husband, Roman. Showrunner Todd Harthan hints at a more intense exploration of this storyline, emphasizing that the narrative will "kick up a notch" to provide "bigger bites of story" for the audience.
Except for the Roman storyline, fans have hopes that some other essential things will have better coverage in the upcoming new season. For example, how the relationship between Morgan and her eldest daughter will develop.
“Among other things, that will raise the stakes in the mother-daughter relationship. It sounds like most people here hate the daughter, but I find her to be a very complex character - and, especially given her little screen time, Amirah J does a lot,” Redditor SPFTguy said.
