Horizon Chapter 2: Sequel to Kevin Costner’s Biggest Flop Gets Exciting Release Update

Seems like the saga is about to continue after all.
Everything deserves a second chance, right? Especially when it comes to projects that are actually the creators’ life dreams. We are talking about the Western saga Kevin Costner had in mind for years before starting production.
The first chapter of Horizon: An American Saga was all the rage in the industry last year, but unfortunately it turned out to be a massive flop. The movie made far less than it cost Costner to create. It's $38 million against the $100 million he spent to produce the movie.
After such disappointment, Warner Bros. decided to remove the second chapter from the release slate altogether, even though it was already showcased at the Venice International Film Festival last year.
However, it seems that the sequel will still find its audience: the film's star, Isabelle Fuhrman, who plays the role of Diamond Kittredge, gave fans a hopeful update on the movie's future.
In an interview with ScreenRant, she mentioned that chapter 2 is coming soon, and while she doesn't have any specifics, she is still optimistic.
“I believe it's coming pretty soon. I think they're kind of massaging what's going on with it, but I actually, as of now, haven't heard anything,” said the actress.
Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1 Finds Streaming Success
Perhaps the reason why Warner Bros. may have changed their minds is the fact that while critics gave the film only 51% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has still found new life on streaming platforms Netflix and Max and received a quite respectable 70% rating from viewers.
“Just saw it. Really really liked it! I’m very much looking forward to parts 2, 3 and (hopefully) 4. I couldn’t help but feel while watching it that it may have worked better as a miniseries, but I'm glad it was a movie. The scope and ambition of this saga belong on the big screen,” Redditor whalers0 said.
As a matter of fact, the movie was added to Netflix just at the beginning of this year and still spent most of January in the Netflix top 10. So there’s still hope for Costner’s dream project to yee some haws!
