You might have missed it in the Harry Potter movie series all along, but just put the evil aside — Draco’s relationships with his parents looked way healthier than anything else in the wizarding world.

It's common thinking that the Malfoys have always been some of the biggest villains in the Harry Potter book and movie series, but things might not be as plain as they seem.

Introduced as a pure antagonist and Harry’s fiercest enemy while in Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy is constantly seen as a spoiled and brat-behaving teenager who uses his parents’ influence to gain some popularity at school.

However, some of the “Harry Potter” books’ fans paid closer attention to what Draco’s relationship with Lucius and Narcissa is really like, and it might come as a surprise for those who have been rooting for the Weasley family all along.

The Malfoys Demonstrate Probably the Healthiest Family Dynamics in the Entire Harry Potter Series

Even though their interaction has never been about hugs and words of affection, the Malfoys were able to show their love and care for each other by different means.

A Reddit post shared by Better_Life_7609 suggests that the trio was always about actions rather than idle talk.

This gets its first mention in “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” where it’s revealed that, unlike Harry, Draco has been receiving regular packages from home as Lucius and Narcissa were trying to support their young son with all sorts of sweets and cakes while he’s out there all alone.

It’s also fair to say Draco didn’t brag about his father’s influence for nothing and Lucius in fact found a way to use it for his son’s good by getting Draco into the Quidditch team and even coming to see him play for the first time. This is something we saw even in the movies.

With time, when things got worse and Hogwarts was on the verge of a war with Voldemort, neither Lucius nor Narcissa cared about the Dark Lord’s win or loss since their only desire was to get Draco out of there alive.

Apart from that, Lucius and Narcissa also demonstrate their support for each other, with the former listening to his wife’s advice and the latter defending her husband even after he failed dramatically.

‘Harry Potter’ Fans Are Divided Over the Malfoys’ Best Parents Title

Even though it might seem like there was nothing toxic or just wrong in Draco’s relationship with his parents, some fans still got offended by the way the Weasleys were left out.

“Best parents in the series? No. Not when Arthur and Molly Weasley exist. Are the Wesley’s perfect? No, nobody is, but they are loving parents who provide for their kids, but they also set appropriate limits for their kids and discipline them when necessary. That’s the Malfoys’ great failing as parents, is not setting sufficient limits for Draco”, CyborgBee73 wrote in the thread.

“I never understood those people who say Draco was abused. The boy CLEARLY loved and trusted his parents in a way that would not happen if they were abusive”, Katybratt18 retorted.
