The show may continue to fight the Bury Your Gays trope.

Despite being one of the happiest episodes for all #Daemyra shippers in the House of the Dragon fandom, episode 6 of season 1 of the show was also one of the darkest moments, as it marked the death of Laenor Velaryon right after the death of his sister Laena.

And although the viewers know that the death was not real, the characters have yet to find out.

However, this may change in season 2. Since the show has already changed a lot from the original book by George R. R. Martin, it can be assumed that there will be more changes to come.

For example, in order to make the show more acceptable to modern audiences, the writers changed the ages of the characters, so now this part will probably affect the next generations as well.

Young Aegon III and Viserys II, the little children of Rhaenyra and Daemon we met in episode 8, are presumably about two years old.

Since season 2 was promised to start without any major time jumps, we can assume that neither of the toddlers would be able to protect themselves, let alone fly a dragon, as happens in some places in the book.

One of the versions fans have of how such a situation might be handled involves Laenor's comeback to save the day… and the child, who may not be his own, but who he cares for because of his mother.

There's not much evidence yet, but according to Daemon's speech in the first season finale, his dragon Seasmoke is still on Driftmark, not moving to Dragonmont as in the book.

Besides, would the writers really tease us about Laenor being alive and leaving King's Landing only to not show up later?

Whether or not Laenor Velaryon will be involved in an incident with Rhaenyra's younger children, or if he'll show up at another time to join Team Black and support his ex-wife in her claim to the Iron Throne, we'll have to wait and see.

The show's creative team is currently in the midst of filming season 2, so keep an eye out for more news and behind-the-scenes updates.
