Zoe Kravitz Won’t Be in 'The Batman 2' — But What About in 'Penguin'?

Fans speculate she could appear in the Penguin series instead.
Rumours have been heating up around The Batman 2, and now all eyes are on Zoe Kravitz’s Selina Kyle. According to Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic, her representatives made it clear during another film’s junket: she’s not returning.
Reportedly, they told reporters not to "bother asking Zoe anything (about The Batman Part 2). She’s not in it and she doesn’t know anything."
I wouldn’t be surprised by this, honestly. Seeing how The Batman ended with Bruce and Selina going their separate ways, it actually makes sense narratively. One Reddit user even put it perfectly:
"It’s okay to not bring forward every character for a sequel, especially since it’s supposed to take place shortly after Part 1 and she was leaving the city."
Exactly. Bringing her back too soon could feel forced, and part of me actually thinks it would hit harder if Selina returned in a potential third and final film. That way, her storyline gets the weight it deserves rather than being crammed into The Batman 2.
Another fan had an interesting take on where Selina could appear instead:
"And if there is a second season of the Penguin, she could appear in that instead to explore the sister relationship with Sofia. Then Part 2 could explore a different love interest from the comics too."
I love this idea. It keeps Selina relevant to the franchise while allowing The Batman 2 to focus on other plotlines. The dynamic with Sofia Falcone could bring new tension and depth, showing a side of Selina we haven’t seen before.
Using the Penguin series to explore her relationships makes a lot of sense and actually strengthens the overall Batman universe.
From my perspective, these fan insights make perfect sense. Not every character needs to return immediately, and spreading Selina’s appearances across different media could enhance her arc.
I, for one, would be excited to see her develop through the Penguin series and maybe later reappear in a climactic third film.
