House of the Dragon ’s upcoming war between the Greens and the Blacks keeps adding more potential participants, with actors Tom Cullen, Joplin Sibtain and Barry Sloane getting on board for the show’s next season.
Planned for a release sometime in 2026, House of the Dragon’s season 3 finally reached its production start back in March, promising major changes after last year’s second season turned out to be the biggest disappointment for the series’ fans.
The third season’s newcomers, in their turn, will become other important game players in the imminent Dance of the Dragons, so here’s everything you need to know about their characters.
Who Tom Cullen, Joplin Sibtain and Barry Sloane Will Portray in House of the Dragon
As Deadline reported, all the three actors have joined House of the Dragon as noble knights Ser Luthor Largent, Ser “Bold” Jon Roxton, and Ser Adrian Redfort respectively.

If the show is to follow George Martin ’s Fire & Blood (we don’t have high hopes though), the trio won’t be much around, but will still have important roles in the Dance of the Dragons’ final outcome.
That said, in Martin’s book, Ser Luthor Largent first joins his forces to fight for the Greens, but eventually switches sides and pledges his loyalty to the Blacks’ Daemon Targaryen.
Jon Roxton, who will be portrayed by Andor ’s star Joplin Sibtain, is mostly known for masterfully handling an Orphan-Maker, a Valyrian steel longsword with a black blade; he joins the fight after offering support to the Greens.
Lastly, Adrian Redfort goes into the war on Rhaenyra’s side and remains faithful to her; he then becomes her Queensguard.

The news came as an exciting update for those familiar with George Martin’s lore, but everyone was still talking about someone House of the Dragon hesitates to announce.
“At this point, they must be saving Daeron as the final casting announcement. It’s cool we’re getting Bold Jon and probably Orphan-Maker though”, Redditor aLittleDoober shared in a thread.
“I don't know why they keep Daeron's casting so secretive if Ormund will be the one taking the spotlight”, al_1985 also joined the discussion.

In fact, there are no guesses about who will portray Prince Daeron at this point, but he’s been confirmed to become a pivotal figure in the Targaryens’ war coming in season 3.
When Is House of the Dragon Season 3 Being Released?
The show’s next instalment has no premiere date so far, but is believed to arrive on Max sometime in summer of 2026.
