How Did Caeneus Die In ‘Kaos’?

One of the best Greek Mythology interpretations on modern TV, Kaos deserved more than it got. But the deaths of its main characters are still bothering the fans.
Netflix's series Kaos, although prematurely canceled, managed to become a fan favorite in no time, mostly for the way it reimagined the ancient Greek mythology into a modern shape. It did so with the main figures as well, and the figure of Caeneus is not an exception.
In the show's modern interpretation, Caeneus, brilliantly portrayed by Misia Butler, meets his tragic end at the hands of the very people who raised him.
The thing is, he was born as Caenis in the tribe of Amazons, who are well known for their brutal attitude towards men. It was impossible for them to survive among the tribe and after the age of 11 they were always murdered.
And the same fate haunted Caeneus, but differently. His mother, aware of his identity, sent him away for his own safety from the Amazon community that would kill him for his transition. But years later, the Amazons, including Caeneus' own mother, found him. He's killed basically for transitioning and embracing his true identity as a man.
However, in the Underworld, Caeneus' mother reveals she was fulfilling a prophecy and wanted them to pass the Frame together, after she kills herself as well. It’s only later they realize they were believing a bunch of lies this whole time.
