Trapped in a Dating Sim wrapped its light novels long after the anime stopped. What the finished books reveal about Leon's marriages, his household, and his kids.

Leon Fou Bartfort spent thirteen volumes screaming that all he wanted was a quiet life in the countryside, and I regret to inform you that the man failed spectacularly, in every direction, forever.

The anime left off with Leon as a mid-tier noble with two not-girlfriends and a floating robot with a genocide hobby. The books kept going. The light novels wrapped for good with Volume 13 in March 2024, and the web novel finished all the way back in 2019, so the full picture has been sitting there for years while anime-only viewers argue about ship charts.

The husband count is one. The wife count is a problem

By the end, Leon is king. Yes, king — the "mob" won the whole board. And the marriage roster reads like a raid party:

  • Angelica, the legal wife and reigning queen who runs the entire household like a CFO
  • Olivia (Livia), the girl who was supposed to be the game's protagonist
  • Noelle, imported from the sequel game with a sacred tree attached
  • Clarice and Deirdre, the senpais who never left
  • Louise and Hertrude, diplomatic incidents turned spouses
  • Mylene, the former queen, i.e. his friend's mom, i.e. the internet's favorite scandal

Okay, but the kids

Here's the part that makes fans feral: canon never sits down and counts. The epilogue material and the series wiki list children under practically every single wife — plural, unnamed, everywhere. So the floor is roughly one kid per wife, and the realistic answer is "a small aristocratic daycare." The books treat the Bartfort dynasty the way you'd treat a rumor: everyone knows it's enormous, nobody's putting a number in writing.

Which is very funny given that author Yomu Mishima told Anime Corner his least favorite part of writing the series:

"Leon is not a character suitable for a harem."

Sir. SIR. He has eight wives and a nursery wing. The character you built is thriving.

The takeaway

If you want an exact headcount, the novels will not hand it to you — they hand you a dynasty and a shrug. Honestly? Respect. Some numbers are better left to fanfic.
