The Mexican classics for the entire family.

With all the variety of cuisines in the modern world, the Mexican food has offered some of the most tempting dishes that quite many tried to make in their own kitchen.

The chicken fajitas definitely makes it to the top-5, and another good news is that you won’t have to waste much time to serve the most authentic Mexican dinner for your family. You can follow the list of the ingredients for the filling below or change some and add whatever you prefer.

Here’s what you need: about 500 grams of chicken breast, 1–2 onions , 1–2 bell peppers, sour cream, grated cheese, tortillas.

For pico de gallo (aka famous Mexican sauce): 3-4 tomatoes, 1 onion, 1 bell pepper, a bunch of cilantro, lemon juice, vinegar, salt.

Cut the chicken breast into strips and marinate it. There are some special marinades for fajitas, but you can easily do it with just pepper, salt, and lemon juice. Then, cut the onion into thick rings and the bell pepper into strips, marinate them in balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

Prepare the pico de gallo. Dice tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers, chop the herbs. Sprinkle generously with salt, add lemon juice and vinegar. To let the flavors soak in better, prepare the sauce some time before and leave it in the fridge overnight.

Start by placing the vegetables on the grill or skillet first so it heats up properly. Then add the meat. Place the meat and vegetables on separate plates.

Serve everything (tortillas, meat, vegetables, sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese) separately, so that makes their own fajitas to their liking.
