Hugh Grant’s 2024 Hit Horror Is on Max Now

Having risen to stardom after appearing in several hit romcoms like Notting Hill and the Bridget Jones movies, Hugh Grant has been long considered the cinema industry’s heartthrob until his latest movie didn’t arrive in theatres several months ago.

Also starring Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East, the movie sees Grant in quite an eerie role no one could ever imagine him to take on at some point, though it still might have been a major reason for the flick to become a massive hit in the box office worldwide.

Despite receiving a digital release date a while ago, the movie has just made it to Max, and it’s a good reason for you to go check it out.

Hugh Grant’s Heretic Is Streaming on Max Now

Though it has been available for watching online before, Heretic has now also been added to Max’s collection, so the streamer’s viewers might want to add it to their watchlist if they haven’t seen it yet.

Produced by A24 and released back in November of 2024, the movie follows two young Mormon missionaries Sister Barnes and Sister Paxton who pay a visit to middle-aged man Mr Reed in an attempt to talk him into joining their religion.

Their conversation eventually goes beyond a short talk at the porch as Mr Reed invites them both to his house, tempting the missionaries with a blueberry pie his wife is about to finish. However, the seemingly harmless man turns out to be a psycho aiming at giving Sister Barnes and Sister Paxton near-death experiences.

Heretic Was One of the Most Successful Horrors of 2024

The movie appeared to feature yet another outstanding role of Hugh Grant, so no wonder it became one of the top choices in the box office of last year’s November.

With a budget of $10 million, Heretic grossed around $57 million worldwide, also receiving numerous accolades, including the Golden Globes, the BAFTA and the Critics’ Choice Awards nominations for Grant.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film is currently holding scores of 91% and 76% from critics and audiences respectively.
