I Just Watched 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' (2025) — Let Me Answer All Your Questions

Here’s what you need to know.
If you’re like me and grew up loving late-‘90s slashers, then you’ve probably been both excited and nervous about the 2025 reboot of the millennial favourite horror, I Know What You Did Last Summer. I went in cautiously hopeful — and I left with a lot to say.
So if you’ve been searching Google for info, here’s everything you want to know (and yes, I’m spilling spoiler tea too).
Is It a Sequel or a Reboot?
It’s a legacy sequel. The 1997 film happened, and this new one builds on it. Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.) are back. It’s set in Southport again — with a Gen Z twist.
Who’s the Killer This Time?
A new Fisherman emerges — and it’s Stevie, one of the teens, avenging a buried past. Ray’s secret involvement adds a dark twist I didn’t see coming.
Where Can You Watch It?
It hit cinemas in July and is coming soon to Max. The original is still on Netflix, but no sign of the 2025 one there yet.
Does Sarah Michelle Gellar Return?
Kinda. Helen appears in a dream — creepy, haunting, and yes, a total nostalgia punch.
