A heartbreaking journey through love, loss, and the passage of time.

I finally got the chance to watch We Live in Time, and it’s the kind of film that quietly guts you. Directed by John Crowley (Brooklyn), this romantic drama follows the bittersweet love story of Almut (Florence Pugh) and Tobias (Andrew Garfield), unfolding in non-linear fashion over the years — from their chaotic first encounter to the tragic toll of time and memory.

Without spoiling too much: it's a gentle yet devastating tale about love, loss, and how time reshapes everything. The script by Nick Payne (Constellations) is beautifully written, with a quiet power that sneaks up on you.

The film premiered at Telluride on August 31, 2024, and received a warm reception at TIFF shortly after. It was released in cinemas in the UK & Ireland on September 13, 2024 (via StudioCanal), and in the USA on October 11, 2024 (via A24).

Streaming & VOD

While there's still no official confirmation, digital and streaming availability is expected very soon. Given the release timeline and distributors, it’s likely to hit platforms such as Netflix or Apple TV in select regions sometime in mid-to-late 2025.

Are you ready for a slow-burn romance that hits hard?
