It looks as if Cocaine Bear has given birth to a new genre of horror movies that the viewers have never seen before.

Cocaine Bear was released in cinemas not so long ago and caused quite a stir. The movie is based on a true story that took place in the US in the 1980s, but in reality the bear died of an overdose.

In the movie it starts hunting people.

In the interview with People, director Elizabeth Banks was asked if she would be interested in making a similar film, but about a shark.

The idea of such a movie was discussed online after New Zealand police found 3.5 tonnes of cocaine in the Pacific Ocean.

The news went viral, and the phrase "cocaine shark" began to circulate around social media. Banks said she read the news and saw that users had already come up with a title for the shark movie.

According to the director, if there is a good story in all this, then she can make it work.

"I've seen that. If there's a great story, then sure. Jaws with cocaine, I don't see how that loses," the director said.

However, it seems that someone else picked up the idea and put it into practice before the director of the original movie did.

Wild Eye Releasing recently released the trailer for their new movie Cocaine Shark. The trailer has it all – the special effects, the acting, the writing – exaggerated trashiness just makes it perfect.

The plot of the movie is as follows: a mafia drug lord has flooded the streets with a highly addictive new stimulant, HT25.

It is extracted from sharks and kept in a secret laboratory and has terrible side effects.

After an explosion in the lab, an army of mutated, bloodthirsty sharks and other creatures are released, and a small group of people try to stop the carnage.

The decision to make and release Cocaine Shark was apparently influenced by the box office success of Cocaine Bear and the already existing discussion on social media about making a similar movie, only underwater.

If anyone still dares to see this obvious future cinematic masterpiece, Cocaine Shark will be released on July 7, 2023.
