Is Yellowstone Setting Up Monica's Death?
Fans are still trying to guess who will die in Yellowstone as they are disappointed with season 5 slow-burn pace.
Season 5 of Yellowstone has turned the show's fandom into a large group of blood-thirsty skeptics who believe that character death is the only thing that can save the series at this point.
However, this time, it looks like Yellowstone itself is dropping hints that a certain character is about to get killed off, and this character is Monica. According to Redditor veryfaroverpar, the writing is foreshadowing that things aren't looking good for this girl.
"Monica hitches a ride out to the camp to see Kayce and Tate, and does some insightful musing about how good it was to see Tate just being a kid. When she did that, I told my wife that she was about to die; people in Hollywood tend to reminisce, smell the roses, etc before they are killed," the Redditor noted.
Other fans pointed out that season 5 appears to be trying to make Monica more likeable — potentially in order to make people feel sadder when she dies. This is unusual because Monica has never been the most pleasant character in Yellowstone; and this season, even those who can't stand her note that she is becoming increasingly more likeable.
Some people believe that Monica might become the victim in a murder attempt against Beth.
However, the way the show seems to be setting up Monica's death does not sit well with fans.
"The character wanted nothing to do with the ranch and wanted to get far away from it. Now, after going through something traumatic at the beginning of the season, she inexplicably is relaxed and happy and wants to live on the ranch? It seems jarring both in personality and motivation," Redditor DustedGrooveMark said.
Yellowstone season 5 has mostly been a "train wreck", with fans blasting it for being boring and uneventful, with mid-season finale never providing the fandom with a cliffhanger it expected. Now, episode 9 is set to return on Paramount in summer 2023, with the network still to specify the exact date.
