Jacob's Biggest Flaw Taylor Lautner Only Now Starting to Realize
He just needed a Twilight marathon to finally get it.
Team Edward and Team Jacob both have a Taylor Lautner on their side, with the Twilight star rooting for his own character and his wife and namesake supporting Edward Cullen. However, Lautner (the actor) is starting to understand that not everything about his werewolf character was picture perfect.
Speaking with his wife on The Toast podcast, Lautner revealed that he recently had a Twilight marathon, because why not, and had a realization about Jacob.
"As I was watching it, I was like, I kinda get it. Jacob's a little annoying. I love Jacob and his heart, but he's a little annoying," the Twilight star admitted.
Lautner came to this conclusion after watching New Moon, Eclipse and the first half of Breaking Dawn: Part 1 back to back. Before that, he hadn't seen the Twilight movies in about a decade.
Maybe that's why his wife was on Team Edward the whole time?
After all, Jacob Black is criticized by many Twilight fans for being way too clingy and stalker-like when it comes to pursuing his love. However, it's not like Edward has aged well (no pun intended) either, as many people believe he was a toxic and manipulative boyfriend.
The rivalry between Edward and Jacob is a centerpiece of the Twilight franchise, which consists of five films released between 2008 and 2012. Lautner portrayed Jacob in all five films and still insists he has his character's back no matter what.
