So here’s the thing: Jared admitted he will never let his children watch the Season 4 finale. And the reason is kind of sweet but brutal at the same time. That’s the episode where Sam and Dean are forced to kill a character played by Genevieve Cortese — Jared’s real-life wife.
Imagine being one of his kids and seeing Dad and "Uncle Jensen" kill Mum on screen. Jared even joked about it in an interview, but honestly? If I were him, I’d feel the same. That would be traumatising for any child!
My Thoughts on Jared’s Favourite Episode
What surprised me even more is Jared’s favourite episode. He says the series finale is his absolute favourite because it wrapped up the story perfectly. And okay, I get it — from an actor’s perspective, it’s emotional. But as a fan? I was not on board.
The ending still feels wrong to me. Dean dying the way he did, and Sam living this quiet life? It just didn’t sit well. And clearly, I’m not alone because the finale only got a 6.9 on IMDb. Compare that to Season 5, Episode 22 — that masterpiece scored a 9.7 and should have been the real ending, in my opinion.
Honestly, I love that Jared is so protective of his family. But now I can’t stop thinking — if my kids saw something like that, I’d probably do the same.
