Although Season 2 of The OA ended six years ago, the creators and actors continue to hint that a third season is possible. Here's what Jason Isaacs had to say about it.

Created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, The OA is a cult series that blends mysticism, science, and philosophy. Despite its unexpected cancellation after the second season, the show left many unanswered questions, and its loyal viewers have been demanding a sequel for years.

And The OA fans are excited again – all thanks to Jason Isaacs, who played Dr. Percy in the series. During the Metztorii convention, the actor offered subtle hope for the revival of The OA.

Jason Isaacs Gave 'The OA' Fans Hope with His Cryptic Answer

Jason Isaacs Weighs in on 'The OA' Season 3, Reigniting Fans' Hope:

After two seasons of multidimensional jumps, and philosophical riddles, The OA didn't get a logical conclusion. However, judging by Isaacs' words, the story may not be over.

His words sounded like a hint that, in the world of The OA, nothing ever truly ends. The actor said:

“Where we left it at the end of two, we could pick it up whenever we want to. We could leave a gap. It might even be better with a gap of five year. So, it's never over until it’s over. That's what I'd say.”

'The OA' Could Return in Another Form – As a Movie or Comic Book

Jason Isaacs Weighs in on 'The OA' Season 3, Reigniting Fans' Hope:

Although there have been no official announcements yet, fans remain optimistic. In the past, Netflix has revived canceled projects under pressure from fans, such as Lucifer. Additionally, Brit Marling has repeatedly hinted that the script of the show is finished, and viewers will see it sooner or later.

Some fans suggest that The OA may return in a different format, such as a film, miniseries, or comic book. However, the rights still belong to Netflix. Reddit user Grouchy-Table6093 wrote:

“zal and brit are creative enough that they could do a soft reboot of the show somewhere else. or hell bring back the same characters in a different story, it dosen't need to be called the oa, as long as its a subtle continuation.”

'The OA' Remains One of the Most Unique TV Projects in Recent Years

For many, The OA is more than just a series – it's a philosophical experience that changes one's perception of reality. While the actors and creators drop hints, fans continue to believe that the story's ending has yet to be written.

As Isaacs himself says, "It's never over." Maybe he knows something we don't? The third season of The OA could be closer than it seems.
