A new movie ironically labeled by audiences as a sequel to Statham’s Beekeeper, A Working Man is now all yours to watch on streaming — here’s where you can find it.

It might be difficult to imagine a new year without another Jason Statham- led action flick in it, so here it is already available for checking out on digital platforms.

Released in theatres worldwide on March 28, A Working Man stars Statham as yet another dangerous guy fighting for peace and justice, though this time critics weren’t that much fond of the story.

Apart from receiving mixed reviews, the movie didn’t have much success in the box office either, barely breaking even with $79 million grossed against its budget of $40 million.

Still, it does seem like A Working Man worked just fine for viewers and Statham’s fans in particular, now getting a bigger chance for popularity on the streamer’s platforms.

A Working Man Quietly Landed on Streaming This Week

It’s safe to say the movie wasn’t expected to arrive on digital platforms that early, roughly three weeks after its release in theatres.

Also starring Jason Flemyng and Michael Peña, A Working Man is based on Chuck Dixon’s 2014 novel Levon’s Trade, following former Royal Marine Commando Levon Cade.

After ending things with the dangerous routine in the military, the latter works as a leader of a construction team, maintaining close relationships with the family that runs the company.

However, when their daughter is kidnapped by Russian traffickers, Levon has to get back to his previous life, tracking the criminals down in an attempt to bring them to justice.

What Critics and Viewers Say About A Working Man

Unlike Statham’s previous action thriller Beekeeper, A Working Man can’t boast of many praising words from critics.

“Ridiculous. Even the Jason Statham stans have seen this a million times before”, The Cinesnob Podcast’s Kiko Martinez snarled in his review.

“David Ayer delivers an overlong yarn that hops between predictable, unimaginatively choreographed action set pieces and an unnecessarily complicated plot that falls apart if the viewer looks too closely”, Radio Times’ Terry Staunton wrote, giving the movie 2 out of 5 stars.

This, however, goes in contrast with what ordinary viewers have to say about A Working Man.

“I liked this one a lot. Statham's always the same, but the movie around him was a lot better this time than usual. I loved the giant moon, personally. It fit[s] right in with the campy tone of the villains”, Redditor Rangerlifr wrote in a thread, later getting some support from other fans of the actor.

  • On Rotten Tomatoes, A Working Man holds scores of 50% and 87% from critics and viewers
  • On IMDb, the movie rates 5.9/10
