Neither the show cancellation nor its renewal are confirmed by Apple TV Plus yet.

It's not a secret Ted Lasso premiering on Apple TV Plus back in 2020 was a huge success.

Viewers found the show light-hearted and funny enough to keep them going through the hardships of the pandemic and leaving wanting more after every season.

Season 3 of Ted Lasso will hit the screens on March 15, and while fans are getting a full season to see how the story unfolds, the co-creator of the show and leading actor Jason Sudeikis brings uncertainty to their hearts.

Sudeikis is not the first one teasing Ted Lasso ending after season 3.

Such cast members as Brett Goldstein, who portrays Roy, and Hannah Waddingham, who portrays Rebecca, both mentioned the need to say goodbye to their beloved characters previously.

Although the show cancellation is neither confirmed nor denied by Apple TV Plus, it seems like everyone is sure about how things will end.

The news seems to really get to fans, many of whom aren't ready to see the story end so soon. Twitter and Reddit both went flooded with sad memes as soon as the interview got posted. But Jason Sudeikis already had their reactions in mind.

"Maybe by May 31, they're like, 'Man, you know what, we get it, we're fine. We don't need anymore, we got it," he told Deadline, being very thankful for the support the show gets from the viewers.

Whether he is correct, and fans will be satisfied with the ending, is yet to see.

However, if there would be a big enough viewer demand, Sudeikis leaves the door open for possible spinoffs. With so many characters in the show being so popular within the fanbase for various different reasons, it would not be as hard to build their following storylines.

This is another beautiful side of Ted Lasso: the ability to "set the table for all sorts of folks" and leave a legacy that could be built upon.
