'Ted Lasso' star is very busy right now, but it looks like the new DC movie has managed to pique the comedian's interest.
Jason Sudeikis, known for his work on SNL and appearing in many comedy films, including 'Horrible Bosses' and 'We Are the Millers', has reportedly joined the production of the upcoming 'Blue Beetle' movie, portraying Ted Kord, one of the original characters behind that alias. He was first introduced in 1966, and since Xolo Maridueña was invited to play the eponymous character in the film, Sudeikis may play the role of the mentor to the future superhero.
The news comes courtesy of a casting announcement for the body double, which states that the Blue Beetle is looking for "blonde ad brunette talent for a still photo shoot," with a slightly blurred photo of Sudeikis added as a reference.
Fans are excited to have their favorite comedian join the DCEU in a legendary role and praise Warner Bros. for the great casting.
Others wonder about the movie itself, hoping that Booster Gold, Blue Beetle's close friend and associate, will also appear in the upcoming film.
'Blue Beetle' will premiere on August 18, 2023.
