Kudos to Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Jensen Ackles for making us forget the age gap is a thing… but still.

Back in 2005, when Supernatural premiered with its eerie charm and brotherly banter, we didn’t know we were about to fall in love with the Winchester brothers, Dean (portrayed by Jensen Ackles ) and Sam (Jared Padalecki ).

We were also introduced to their father, John Winchester, brought to screens by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, fan-favorite Denny Duquette from Grey’s Anatomy and the future Negan of The Walking Dead. But did you know that the age gap between Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Jensen Ackles is just a mere 12 years?

Despite playing father and son, these two actors are closer in age than you might think. When the show premiered Morgan was 39, and Jensen was 27. Now, that’s something that could make you go “hmm.”

But the good thing is — most fans didn’t even notice. The father-son chemistry was so on point, and their portrayals were so convincing, that the age difference seemed like a trivial detail.

Morgan and Ackles truly brought their A-game to Supernatural, creating a memorable and endearing relationship on-screen. They are now also both stars of Prime Video ’s The Boys with Morgan making his debut in the upcoming season 4.

Even though they won’t likely appear on screen together in The Boys, it’s still fun to remember that Eric Kripke is the creator of both shows.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan departed from the show right at the start of season 2, leaving fans yearning for more of John Winchester. Jeffrey’s career was skyrocketing, with him juggling roles not just in Supernatural, but also in Grey’s Anatomy and Weeds.

Even as he became a Hollywood star, he knew he wanted to return. And he did. In the 300th episode titled Lebanon, Jeffrey made a comeback, giving fans and the Winchester family the closure they needed.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jensen Ackles, and Jared Padalecki share a bond that’s not just on-screen. These three became fast friends, attending each other’s weddings. And to seal their friendship, they even got matching tattoos. Yep, the Supernatural trio commemorated their bond with ink during Jeffrey’s wedding.
