Joe Locke's Favorite Heartstopper S2 Storyline Is Not Even About Nick and Charlie
Nick and Charlie are undoubtedly fan favorites, but Joe Locke's sympathies are with the other couple.
Actor Joe Locke, who plays Charlie on Heartstopper, shared his favorite storyline from season 2.
While it just came out and fans are waiting with bated breath to see how the relationship between main characters Nick and Charlie will develop, Locke's main sympathy was not for the main couple.
The actor admitted that the story of the relationship between Tao and Elle became his favorite:
“The Tao and Elle story this season, I think, is my favorite in any story of the season. I think it’s really gorgeously played out […]. With the Tao and Elle story, there’s a lot of chewing and fraying. Will they, won’t they, but in a different way to what’s Nick and Charlie’s relationship, which I think is great. This Heartstopper is all about showing different types of relationships.”
The actor also shared that Heartstopper is different from other adaptations. It's not only accurately transfers comic story to the small screen, but somehow expands the universe, giving enough time to the rest of the characters and their relationships.
The season just came out and so far it has almost perfect reviews –100% from critics and 98% from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes. As fans expected, the second season, like the first, followed the original source fairly closely, and Nick and Charlie, along with their friends, went on a trip to Paris.
After the success of the first season, Heartstopper was renewed for two seasons at once – the project became one of the top ten most watched projects in 54 countries.
As the series has consistently followed the plot of the graphic novels by Alice Oseman, one can already guess what the third season will focus on. The next volume of Heartstopper is taking readers to college – the main characters have graduated from school and are ready to start a new phase of their lives.
There is no exact release date for the third season of Heartstopper, but based on the release dates of the previous seasons, new episodes can be expected at the end of 2024.
