The free streaming service suddenly saw an unexpectedly high demand for Travolta’s 2004 superhero movie The Punisher, which at some point even made it to the top 10 list of the most popular films on the platform in recent days.
Now that The Punisher was granted a second chance by a new audience, the movie can potentially get back to the top charts once some new viewers join in — luckily, there’s no need for a subscription.

Based on the comic book series of the same name, The Punisher follows FBI agent Frank Castle, whose entire family is killed after crime lord Howard Saint orders so. Planning a full-scale revenge, Castle transforms into the vengeful Punisher after Saint makes an attempt to track him down too, but after getting severely injured, Castle is even more determined to bring Saint’s evil empire down.

Despite being related to Marvel, which was already on its way to become a major game player in the industry back in 2004, The Punisher had no luck in the box office, earning only $54 million against the budget of $33 million. Additionally, the film was panned by critics and currently holds a disheartening score of 29% on Rotten Tomatoes, though its viewers were more condescending and granted it with 63% of favorable reviews.
