'Jujutsu Kaisen' Season 3 Episode 12: What Happened in the Finale & What to Expect in Season 4
The third season concluded with the highly anticipated episode that viewers had been waiting for since the beginning of the arc.
Episode 12 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is pure, undiluted action, featuring one of the most powerful sorcerers of our time: Yuta Okkotsu facing off against three opponents single-handedly.
IMDb users rated the finale 9.9 out of 10 – the highest rating in this title's history. Here's what made the finale so memorable and what to expect in Season 4.

In Episode 12, Yuta Okkotsu battles three formidable opponents at once: the 400-year-old Ryu Ishigori, who can shoot power beams from his hair; the ancient sorceress Takako Uro, who controls the sky and prefers to fight naked; and the cursed cockroach spirit Kurourushi, who can summon hordes of insects.
The battle lasts 27 minutes, but it doesn't feel rushed – the animators included all the important moments from the manga. Yuta uses his signature ability to copy his opponents' techniques by eating part of their body – that's why he bites off half of the cockroach's face.
He is aided in the battle by the cursed spirit of Rika, whom he summons through a ring. The climax comes with a confrontation between Yuta and Ryu, set to the opening theme song.
Another highlight is when the three opponents simultaneously activate their domain expansion. However, their barriers collide and freeze in equilibrium and the intruder turns out to be the cockroach, which can even penetrate magical space.
How Did the Third Season of 'Jujutsu Kaisen' End?
The third season adapted more than forty chapters of the manga, from 137 to 181. The main characters, Yuji and Megumi, formed alliances, infiltrated the first Tokyo colony, and established a new rule: players can now transfer points to each other.
Meanwhile, Yuta has accumulated 190 points in the Sendai colony. He needs 300 points to enact three key rules: ending the deadly threat, allowing for a free exit from the colony, and enabling communication with other colonies.
However, the season ends immediately after Yuta's victory, leaving these future plans unresolved. The anime creators have already announced a fourth season that will also cover the Culling Game arc.
What to Wait For in 'Jujutsu Kaisen' Season 4?

Season 4 will likely adapt chapters 181-221. Kinji Hakari and Panda will battle Hajime Kashimo, an ancient sorcerer who was introduced in Episode 6 of Season 3, in the second Tokyo colony.
A separate arc will focus on Maki in Sakurajima Prison. Finally, viewers will witness the long-awaited release of Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm, unless that moment is moved to the beginning of Season 5.
The release date for season four is still unknown. Two and a half years passed between Seasons 2 and 3, so the wait will likely be long.
