Ken Jennings' 2026 net worth: the $4.5 million he won on Jeopardy isn't the biggest line anymore
The most money Ken Jennings has made on Jeopardy! didn't come from answering questions.
Jennings became famous in 2004 for a 74-game winning streak, still the longest in the show's history. After Alex Trebek's death, he guest-hosted in early 2021, shared the job with Mayim Bialik from 2021 to 2023, and has been the sole host since season 40. He also hosts Celebrity Jeopardy!.
What he won as a contestant
His total Jeopardy! winnings come to $4,522,700, built up over 16 years:
- 2004 — $2,520,700 for the 74 wins, plus $2,000 for finishing second in game 75.
- 2005 — $500,000 for second place in the Ultimate Tournament of Champions.
- 2011 — $300,000 for second place against IBM's Watson.
- 2014 and 2019 — $100,000 each from Battle of the Decades and the All-Star Games.
- 2020 — $1 million for winning The Greatest of All Time.
He has won on other shows too: $100,000 on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in 2014, plus $1 million in 2025 playing with Matt Damon and $72,800 on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune in 2023, both for charity.
One quirk: Jeopardy!'s own "Leaderboard of Legends" credits him with $4,370,700, which puts the Greatest of All Time behind Brad Rutter's $4,938,436.
What he's paid as host
Jennings makes about $4 million a year as host, according to Puck News, the same as Bialik when they shared the job. Her deal was set to rise by $1 million for every year she stayed. She didn't stay: in December 2023, Sony told her she was out, and Jennings took the job alone. Trebek, for comparison, made about $10 million a year.

The biggest line
At $4 million a year, one year of hosting nearly matches everything Jennings won as a player across 16 years, and he has been hosting since 2021.
"Being host, you have the responses in front of you," Jennings pointed out on the Inside Jeopardy! podcast.
He added the other perk: "You have a lot more job security."
Net worth in 2026
Celebrity Net Worth puts Jennings at $10 million as of August 2026. His other income streams don't come with numbers attached: a shelf of books, including Brainiac, Maphead and the Junior Genius Guides for kids, and a weekly trivia column, Kennections. He also co-hosted the podcast Omnibus until 2025 and is still its executive producer.
The streak that made him famous ended on November 30, 2004, when he lost to Nancy Zerg on a Final Jeopardy clue about H&R Block.
