'Kevin' Reunion Turns Gothic: Lynne Ramsay and Ezra Miller Co-Write a Dark New Story

Exile, scandal and a vampire screenplay.
Over a decade after disturbing audiences with We Need to Talk About Kevin, director Lynne Ramsay is once again teaming up with Ezra Miller — but this time, the pair are joining forces behind the scenes. The acclaimed Scottish filmmaker revealed recently that she is developing a new project in the vampire genre, with Miller not only set to star, but also co-writing the screenplay alongside her.
"I’m making a vampire movie," Ramsay confirmed in an earlier interview. "It’s with Ezra Miller, who was in Kevin. He’s the main character. That’s in development." Miller later expanded on the revelation in a conversation with Lo Speciale Giornale, adding: "I’m working with [Lynne] again, that will likely be the first thing I do. It’s a film that her and I are writing together."
For Miller, the project marks a notable return to filmmaking after a long period away from the spotlight. In recent years, they’ve kept a low profile, reportedly living on a rural farm in Vermont and focusing on a quieter, more private chapter of life.
Now, with the promise of a new script and a familiar collaborator, Miller appears to be seeking not just a role, but a reinvention. Whether this creative reunion will mark the beginning of a redemptive arc or simply another enigmatic chapter in their unconventional career remains to be seen — but in Ramsay’s capable hands, at the very least, it’s unlikely to be dull.
