New Movie Starring Jodie Comer
The new movie is called The Bikeriders and was written by acclaimed filmmaker Jeff Nichols. You may have heard of the movie, as it was supposed to be released last year, but due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, it did not happen. However, in 2024, Focus Features acquired the distribution rights to the film in the US and Canada, and The Bikeriders will be released in theaters on June 21.
The film is based on the 1967 photo book of the same name by American photographer and filmmaker Danny Lyon, which chronicles the formation of the famous biker group the Outlaws MC. The script is largely fictional but tells a realistic story of how the Chicago motorcycle club grew from a local community for outcasts into a full-fledged gang.

In the new film, Jodie Comer plays Kathy, the wife of Benny, a member of a biker club. It is noteworthy that the actress, one of the finest representatives of method acting, was so into the role that she almost lost her life preparing for it.
'One thing I did with Kathy—which I will never do again, because I don't smoke in real life—was that I was smoking a little bit at home. My pet peeve is when you see people smoking onscreen who you can tell have never smoked a cigarette, and she was just constantly chain smoking. I was like, I have to make sure that it looks like she eats these cigarettes for breakfast. And I went to light the cigarette on the gas hub and the flame singed my eyelashes. So that's one way I took Kathy home with me, which I learned the hard way.'
