Lady Gaga had a daughter in June and nobody knew until a birth certificate surfaced
The date is 9 June, the time is 11:19 at night, the hospital is Cedars-Sinai and the name is Rose Bean Polansky. All four facts come from a birth certificate that surfaced on Thursday, because neither parent has said a word in the hundred days since.
Rose Bean Polansky was born at 11:19 in the evening on 9 June, at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. The public found out on Thursday, when TMZ obtained the birth certificate. That is one hundred days of nothing.
Neither Lady Gaga nor Michael Polansky announced the birth, and neither has commented since the document surfaced. People reported the same afternoon, citing a source, that the name has a musical origin. Everything else in circulation today is a copy of one of those two items.
A hundred days between the delivery room and the first public word, and the first public word came from a county record rather than from either parent.

The name
Rose is the part with an obvious reading. The scene that started Gaga's film career is a drag bar in A Star Is Born, where Ally climbs onto the counter and sings "La Vie en Rose". The film took her to an Academy Award for "Shallow" and a Best Actress nomination in the same year. Bean has no explanation attached to it at all, and neither parent has offered one.
What can be dated, in order:
- 2020 — the relationship becomes public
- 2024 — the engagement is confirmed
- October 2025 — she tells a late-night audience that motherhood is the role she wants next
- 9 June 2026 — Rose Bean Polansky is born in Los Angeles
- 17 September 2026 — a birth certificate makes it public

A hundred days is a long time to hold a secret this size
It is also, for a performer at this level, an operational achievement. A birth at a major Los Angeles hospital involves staff, paperwork, insurance and a paper trail that ends up in a public records system — which is exactly how this came out in the end.
The alternative route is the one most of her peers take: a magazine exclusive, a photograph, a caption, a controlled day. Gaga has used that machinery before for albums, tours and a Super Bowl. For this she used none of it.
The only thing resembling coverage before Thursday was a set of reported sightings, which is to say photographers with long lenses and no confirmation from anyone involved.
Her acting years have run in parallel with all of this. After A Star Is Born came House of Gucci in 2021 and Joker: Folie à Deux in 2024, and last year she turned up in the second season of Wednesday. None of those press cycles produced a word about a pregnancy, which in retrospect covers part of the window.
The mechanism that ended the silence is worth understanding, because it keeps ending silences like this one. A birth generates a certificate; a certificate is a record; records can be requested. Several celebrity births in the last decade have become public exactly this way, days or months after the fact, with the family finding out that they are news at the same moment as everyone else.
The child is three months old and has never been photographed, named by her parents in public, or acknowledged by either of them.
That will change, probably soon, and probably on their terms. What today establishes is only what the certificate establishes: a date, a time, a hospital and a name.
Gaga is 40. Polansky is a technology investor. Their daughter has existed, publicly, for one afternoon.
